Health Hint: May I suggest, instead of adding vegetable oil, use 1 or 2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead.
This is my go-to meal when I do not feel like cooking. It is not necessarily nutritious and low fat, but who eats anything with Butter or Noodle in the title if you are looking for that? Recipe calls for optional addition of butter, and I always skip this. Cook in a larger bowl, as it can boil over.
I say 'close to' perfect because there is probably better pasta out there, but for this price, this really is great. Add tuna to it and then it's perfect. Just make sure the tuna is in water, not the canned tuna in vegetable oil. Also try to get a chunkier type of tuna because it will be easier to drain. It tastes best if you can get all the water out of the can before mixing in the tuna.
My young children love mac and cheese, but I've always bought the standard brands so I wasn't sure how they'd react to this healthier type of the product. To my surprise they not only liked it but said it was the best mac and cheese they has ever had. It may be a bit more expensive but without the artificial coloring and preservatives it's more than worth it!
